2. Scope of this policy
This privacy policy applies to visits to markenapps.com, markenapps.de, and related static landing pages served from these domains, including language variants and app marketing pages for That Shopping List.
It does not cover processing in the That Shopping List mobile app. Sync, participant profiles, push notifications, backups, in-app advertising, Offerista, and other app functions are described in the App Privacy Policy.
These websites do not use contact forms, website-wide analytics, social plugins, or embedded YouTube players. There is no user registration or automated decision-making with legal or similarly significant effects.
3. Hosting and server logs
Our websites are hosted on Google App Engine (Google LLC / Google Ireland Limited). When you access a page, connection data is automatically recorded in Google Cloud Logging, for example:
- IP address;
- date and time of access;
- page requested;
- the previous page, if your browser sends this information;
- browser type, version, and operating system;
- amount of data transferred.
We use this information to deliver pages correctly, maintain security, troubleshoot errors, and defend against abuse. Technical server logs are normally deleted after 30 days. They may be retained longer where necessary to investigate a security incident.
| Purpose | Legal basis (GDPR) |
|---|---|
| Operating and securing the website | Art. 6(1)(f) – legitimate interest in reliable, secure hosting |
4. Store link attribution
Some landing pages adjust App Store and Google Play links so we can see which website page or campaign led to a store visit. The campaign source is taken from the page address or the referring website (for example a partner site such as Cusinary) and carried forward in links you open on our websites. We do not store this information separately on your device.
The store links themselves may contain campaign information required by Apple or Google. Following such a link is voluntary and subject to the respective store provider’s terms.
| Purpose | Legal basis (GDPR) |
|---|---|
| Building campaign-specific store links for the page you opened | Art. 6(1)(f) – legitimate interest in understanding which landing page led to a store visit |
5. Language pages and helper pages
We provide localized landing pages and helper pages such as backup-transfer instructions. These pages are static content. They may use information from the page address to show the correct language or instructions. No account is created and no website profile is stored.
Language forwarding selects the appropriate page for your browser language or the language path you open.
6. Contact by email
If you contact us by email, we process the information you provide (for example your email address, name if given, and message content) to handle your enquiry.
| Purpose | Legal basis (GDPR) |
|---|---|
| Responding to enquiries | Art. 6(1)(b) – pre-contractual or contractual communication, or Art. 6(1)(f) – legitimate interest in customer communication |
We delete correspondence when it is no longer needed, unless statutory retention obligations apply.
7. External links
Our pages contain links to external services such as Apple App Store, Google Play, our app privacy policy, and imprint pages. When you follow such links, the respective provider’s terms and privacy policies apply. Store badges are ordinary links; we do not embed third-party tracking scripts on markenapps.com for website analytics or advertising.
8. Recipients and international transfers
- Google LLC / Google Ireland Limited: website hosting on App Engine and Cloud Logging. Transfers to the United States are covered by Google’s data-processing terms and, where required, Standard Contractual Clauses.
- Our email provider: handling enquiries you send to us by email.
- Apple and Google: when you voluntarily follow store links to the App Store or Google Play.
Where data is processed in countries outside the European Economic Area, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, provider certifications or contractual commitments.
9. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection, as well as the right to withdraw consent where processing is consent-based, with future effect.
You may object at any time to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR on grounds relating to your particular situation. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
